Nancy Farrell, Chief Executive Officer, has developed and managed civic engagement programs and media materials for Regina Villa Associates (RVA) since 1982.  She has more than 30 years of experience directing legislative, public interest and public health campaigns and public participation programs and social marketing campaigns for transportation, emergency preparedness, water and wastewater, public health, landfill, highway and siting projects.  She provides strategic planning, meeting facilitation, management, staffing and media services.

 

Nancy’s projects currently focus on transportation, public health and the environment.  She manages civic engagement for the South Coast Rail Project, which includes outreach to 31 cities and towns, a smart growth Corridor Plan, and many public events, meetings and briefings. RVA assists MassDOT with meeting acilitation, correspondence, website and media materials and transit planning. For the Accelerated Bridge Program, Nancy is RVA’s Project Manager for the 93 Fast 14 project, which is replacing 14 bridges on I-93 over the summer of 2011.  RVA developed the project website with MassDOT, manages development of project videos and supports other outreach efforts.  She is also principal for Grounding McGrath, a MassDOT planning initiative to examine the future of the McGrath and O’Brien Highway in Somerville. Nancy is also beginning work on phase II of youMoveMassachusetts, which will transform MassDOT’s new policy themes into actions and serves as principal for RVA’s work on the Old Colony Commuter Rail Tie Replacement Project; Longfellow Bridge Restoration; and other MassDOT projects, as well as the I-93 Tri-Town Interchange Project.

 

Nancy facilitates meetings for a number of clients, most recently, moderating the public meetings and hearings for the Green Line Extension to Medford; several MA Department of Public Health initiatives; and Interagency Advisory Groups for the I-93 Tri-Town Interchange Project and South Coast Rail.  She is moderating Board of Selectmen meetings on the Town of Falmouth wind turbine project and developing informational materials.

 

Nancy managed program development and staffing for the Heinz Family Foundation conferences on Women’s Health and the Environment (for 11 years).  She was also principal for RVA’s numerous events for MA DPH, the Office of Women's Health and U.S. Department of Labor, Women's Bureau (2010), and the Emergency Preparedness Bureau at DPH (2010).

Nancy writes scripts, opinion editorials, fact sheets, media materials and websites.

 

Nancy is on the national Board of Directors for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, where she chairs the State and Local Policy Subcommittee and is on the Public Policy Task Force.  She is also president of the Cronin Foundation to Fight Ovarian Cancer.  She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Brookline Community Mental Health Center.
